The subject of child maltreatment impacts on every area of social service work. Therefore it is critical that workers have a basic understanding of it so they can recognise and respond to it. Understanding dynamics, factors, indicators and having a simple assessment framework, can help reduce some the anxiety that is often present around this subject. This workshop provides participants with a comprehensive down to earth overview of this difficult topic and is ideal for those working outside of a child protection agency. Nicki and Cherie have between them 30 plus years of working in the area of child protection and maltreatment.
